Über den Autor
Joseph Beuys (Germany, 1921–1986) is regarded as one of the most influential and groundbreaking artists of the post-war period. Associated with Fluxus and conceptual art, Beuys expanded the definition of art through sculpture, installation, performance and political activism.

Central to his practice was the idea of “social sculpture,” through which he believed that art could transform society and human consciousness. His works frequently employed symbolic materials such as felt, fat, copper and found objects, charged with autobiographical, mythological and political meanings.

Beuys’ work has been exhibited internationally in major museums and institutions and continues to have a profound impact on contemporary art discourse.
