Mario Antígono was a painter from the Canary Islands known for his expressive interpretation of landscape and his vibrant, luminous use of color. Deeply inspired by the volcanic geography, vegetation and intense Atlantic light of the archipelago, his works often move between figuration and abstraction. Through dynamic brushwork and layered textures, Antígono created compositions filled with movement, emotion and atmosphere. His paintings reflect both the physical beauty of the islands and a personal, poetic vision of nature and place.
