Tempera painting on wooden panel depicting a female figure portrayed in profile, following the Renaissance taste which drew inspiration from the medallic art of the classical and Roman world. The work was executed by a Sienese forger, most likely produced in the workshop of Federico Joni, with reference to the art of Antonio del Pollaiuolo (Florence 1429/33–1498). On the reverse there is a cartouche bearing the inscription in brown ink: “scuola fiorentina”. Framed with a gilded cassetta frame. Overall good conditions; slight abrasions to the polychromy are present, along with a light patina deliberately applied by the artist to give the painting an antiqued appearance.
