Über den Autor
Wolf Vostell (1932–1998) was an influential German artist, a pioneer of the Fluxus movement and known for his innovations in performance art, installation, and video art.

He began his artistic training at the School of Fine Arts in Wuppertal and later continued at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. Vostell is famous for his happenings and for his use of television as an artistic medium, being one of the first artists to integrate technology and mass media into art. His works frequently addressed themes such as war, consumerism, and mass culture, using materials such as cars, concrete, and televisions to create striking installations.

Throughout his career, Vostell participated in numerous international exhibitions and was an active member of the Fluxus group, collaborating with other experimental artists. His emblematic works, such as “6 TV Dé-coll/age” and “Concrete Traffic,” reflect his commitment to social critique and artistic innovation.

Vostell also left an important mark in Spain, where he founded the Museo Vostell Malpartida in Cáceres in 1976, dedicating this space to the exhibition of contemporary art and his own work. His legacy endures through his contributions to contemporary art and his influence on later generations of artists.
